A Balanced Approach to Idaho's Future
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
In recent weeks, the Idaho House of Representatives has been hard at work, passing several bills aimed at improving the lives of Idahoans across the state. While the specifics of each bill are different, their goals are the same: to enhance the wellbeing, safety, and prosperity of our communities.
We’ve focused on strengthening healthcare access and making sure education is more effective and available to everyone. By updating healthcare laws and investing in our schools, we’re making sure that no matter where you live in Idaho, you can get the care you need and your children can get a quality education.
Economic growth has been another key area. We’ve passed measures that support small businesses and ensure that our state’s policies are fair and promote job creation. We’re also committed to keeping our communities safe and have taken steps to support law enforcement and emergency services. In addition, we understand the importance of our natural resources and have passed legislation aimed at conserving our beautiful landscapes and environment.
These efforts in healthcare, education, economic development, community safety, and environmental conservation are all designed with you in mind. They’re about making sure that Idaho continues to be a wonderful place to live, work, and play.
I am here to serve you and always eager to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to improve our great state. Your feedback is invaluable as we move forward, tackling the challenges of today and seizing the opportunities of tomorrow.
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement. It’s an honor to represent you.
Sincerely,
Representative Matthew Bundy

A heartfelt thank you to our brave service members and Department of Defense
I received an award from the U.S. Department of Defense this week. They recognized me for sponsoring legislation and supporting policies that benefit military members and their families in Idaho. It’s an incredible honor to be acknowledged for our efforts to support those who serve our country so selflessly. This award isn’t just for me; it’s a testament to the spirit of our community in Idaho and our collective commitment to standing by our military families.
Legislation
HB 592 – Depredation
Passed House & Senate
Supporting this bill was an essential decision aimed at addressing the pressing issues of livestock depredation and conflict prevention with wildlife, particularly grizzly bears and wolves. The establishment of a fund, managed by the Idaho State Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the Department of Fish and Game and the Office of Species Conservation, demonstrates a proactive approach to mitigate the economic impact on livestock owners and producers. This legislation underscores the importance of balancing wildlife conservation efforts with the livelihoods of our agricultural community. It’s a crucial step toward fostering prosperity between Idaho’s wildlife and agricultural interests, ensuring that our livestock producers are supported when facing these challenges.
Statewide Voting Guide
Passed Senate
The goal of this bill is to create a statewide voter guide that provides essential candidate information for elections. The guide, which seeks to inform voters about their ballot choices more efficiently than any other method previously used, is projected to cost $350,000 annually—a figure in line with the Secretary of State’s current budget for voter pamphlets on ballot measures. Last year’s similar proposal didn’t make it through the House, but this year’s initiative has gained notable momentum with a 22-13 Senate vote in favor.
